Paav Bhaji

More complicated food for special occasions.


  • 1/3 cauliflower
  • 4 small potatoes
  • 1 capsicum
  • 2 carrots
  • handful of string beans
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp chili powder1
  • 3 tbsp paav bhaji masala2
  • 1 tbsp garam masala3
  • 2 large punches of casuri methi4
  • 5 tbsp salt
  • kothmir and lime for garnishing
  • oil

1. Chop up 1/3 cauliflower, 4 small potatoes and pressure cook for 20 minutes.
2. Peel and cut one capsicum, two carrots, and handful of beans, and pressure cook for 20 minutes.
3. Blend pressure cooked vegetables after peeling and cutting.
4. Chop two onions, two garlic cloves, one inch ginger, and two tomatoes.
5. Sautee mixture on medium heat with oil.
6. Once onions become clear and start to become crispy, add blended vegetable mix.
7. Add 1 tablespoon chili powder1, 3 tablespoons paav bhaji masala2, one table spoon garam masala3, 2 large pinches of casuri methi4, and 5 tablespoons of salt.
8. Add kothmir and squeeze lime before eating.
