Peach Cobbler

Classic southern dessert from Boy Scouts.


  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • canned peaches 7 oz.
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 1.25 cups sugar
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • optional vanilla ice cream

1. Melt one stick butter in baking pan.
2. Mix one cup self rising flour and one cup sugar in bowl.
3. While mixing, add one cup of cold milk and stir.
4. In another bowl, empty canned peaches and add 1 tsp cinnamon, vanilla extract, and corn starch, then add quarter teaspoon of nutmeg, one teaspoon vanilla extract, quarter teaspoon salt, and one tablespoon of corn starch.
5. Pour 3/4 of batter into buttered baking pan, and layer peaches on top. Then, add the rest of batter on top.
6. Mix sugar and cinnamon and add on top for crust, then bake on 350 for 1 - 1.5 hours.
7. Let it rest before serving. Optional Serve with vanilla ice cream.
